
A family in Akure, Ondo State, has been thrown into mourning following the discovery of three siblings dead on a farm around the Owena Army Barracks.
The victims were identified as 11-year-old twins, Joshua and Jacob Jonah, and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah.
According to reports, the children had accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm on Friday, September 4, 2026. They later reportedly left the farm to return home.
Their absence was noticed after their father arrived home and discovered that the children were missing. A search was subsequently launched to locate them.
The search came to a tragic end on Saturday when the bodies of the three children were found near the bank of a small river within the farm.

The circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Command spokesperson, Jimoh Abayomi, said the command had commenced an investigation to determine what happened to the children.
He said the bodies had been released to their father for burial while police continued investigations into the incident.
The tragic death of the three siblings has left their family and community devastated, as authorities work to establish the circumstances that led to their deaths.
