
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the killing of a 27-year-old man during a violent clash at a naming ceremony in Dosi Hamlet, Kirfi Local Government Area of the state.
Police said the suspects are being investigated for alleged criminal conspiracy, breach of public peace and culpable homicide following the incident, which occurred on June 25.
According to the command, the violence began after a disagreement between youths from Tudun Sullubawa Hamlet and Dosi Hamlet during the ceremony. The argument reportedly escalated into a fight, during which the victim, Sani Abacha Alhaji Jabbi, was allegedly attacked with cutlasses.

The victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Gombe for treatment but later died from his injuries. His remains were released to his family and buried according to Islamic rites.
Following investigations, detectives arrested three suspects aged 18, 17 and 16, all from Tudun Sullubawa Hamlet. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police condemned the killing and urged residents, especially community and youth leaders, to resolve disputes peacefully and discourage violence during social gatherings.
