
Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested three individuals in connection with a case of armed robbery and culpable homicide in Gwaram Town, located in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in an official statement on Tuesday, noting that the arrests followed a thorough investigation into a complaint initially reported at the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026.
According to the statement, one of the suspects, Muhammad Umar, also known as “Jijji,” aged 25, was apprehended on June 19, 2026. He was reportedly found in possession of a motorcycle belonging to the deceased victim, which raised suspicion and led to his arrest.
During interrogation, Umar allegedly confessed to his involvement in the crime and provided information that led to the arrest of two additional suspects identified as Usman M. Gidado, 45, and Danladi Yakubu, popularly known as “Pagaj,” aged 35.
All three suspects are residents of Gwaram Town, where the crime occurred.

The police confirmed that the stolen motorcycle has been recovered as evidence. The suspects, along with the exhibit, have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi for further investigation.
SP Habib stated that upon conclusion of the investigation, the suspects will be charged to court accordingly.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has commended the officers involved in the operation for their professionalism and diligence.
He also reassured residents of the command’s unwavering commitment to tackling violent crimes and ensuring justice for victims.
The Bauchi State Police Command reiterated its resolve to maintain law and order while intensifying efforts to combat criminal activities across the state.
