
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested five suspects in connection with separate cases of alleged culpable homicide and armed robbery in Bauchi and Ningi Local Government Areas.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, three of the suspects were apprehended over the killing of a resident in Miri Village, Bauchi LGA.
The suspects, identified as Rabiyu Sanda (16), Muhammad Abubakar (21), and Suleiman Nura (21), were arrested following an investigation into the incident, which reportedly occurred on June 11, 2026.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects allegedly conspired to commit the act after a misunderstanding with the deceased.
Police revealed that the suspects confessed during interrogation and provided useful information aiding the investigation.
The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.

In a separate development, operatives attached to the Ningi Division arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged armed robbery attack on a 22-year-old commercial motorcyclist.
The victim’s father reported that his son was attacked on the night of June 13 in Ningi town by assailants who attempted to steal his motorcycle.
The suspects, identified as Adamu Abdullahi of Zazika Village in Ningi LGA and Aminu Shuaibu of Dutsen Danga Village in Birnin Kudu LGA of Jigawa State, allegedly assaulted the victim with a hammer, leaving him injured before fleeing with the motorcycle.
Police operatives, however, acted swiftly, recovered the stolen motorcycle, and apprehended the suspects. The case has also been transferred to the SCID for further investigation and prosecution.
Reacting to the arrests, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, directed that the cases be handled diligently and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He also urged residents to avoid violent confrontations and to promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
