
The Ogun State Police Command has rescued 18 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who were stranded after their vehicle broke down at night in a notorious kidnapping hotspot in the state.
The rescue operation took place on June 30 after the corps members found themselves stranded in an area known for frequent kidnapping and other criminal activities. They quickly contacted the police for assistance.
Police officers responded promptly to the distress call, secured the area, evacuated all 18 corps members safely to Ijebu Ode, and arranged temporary accommodation for them in a hotel.
The General Manager of Fresh FM Lagos, Taiwo Akinsola, popularly known as Omobabaolowo Woli ni Ilasamaja, commended the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, as well as the divisional police officers and patrol team for their swift intervention.

Akinsola described the rescue as a life-saving operation that prevented what could have turned into a tragic national incident, praising the officers for their professionalism, courage, and commitment to protecting lives.
He added that the successful operation has strengthened public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force and prayed for the continued safety of officers serving across Ogun State.
