Police Nab 147 Suspects, Recover Weapons in Lagos Raids -

The Lagos State Police Command has intensified its offensive against crime with the arrest of 147 suspects during a series of coordinated raids across the state under Operation Ko S’AYE III.

The operation, carried out in the early hours of Sunday, July 19, 2026, targeted identified criminal hideouts in areas including Boolar and Super Ile-Epo.

According to police authorities, a joint team of operatives from various formations executed the raids simultaneously to dismantle criminal networks and restore public safety.

During the exercise, security personnel recovered a cache of items believed to be linked to criminal activities. These included 250 expended cartridges, machetes, battle axes, knives, scissors, assorted charms, and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the ongoing crackdown, emphasizing that Operation Ko S’AYE III will continue across Lagos to eliminate safe havens for criminals.

Residents were also urged to support law enforcement efforts by providing timely and credible information that could aid in identifying and apprehending offenders.

In a related development, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Abubakar Musa, in connection with the alleged killing of 30-year-old Nathaniel Yusuf in Yola North Local Government Area.

Police reports indicate that the victim was attacked and sustained severe injuries before being rushed to a medical facility, where he later died.

The suspect was apprehended at the scene, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.

Authorities in Adamawa have assured the public of their commitment to justice, stating that the investigation is ongoing while urging residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with the police.
