
Terrorists attacked Tsamiya town in Kebbi State late Saturday night, burning down several buildings and abducting a resident before fleeing the community. The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the incident on Sunday and said tactical personnel have been deployed to the area.
According to police, the gunmen struck in the late hours of June 20, 2026, firing shots sporadically as they moved through the town. They set fire to a makeshift checkpoint belonging to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, a local brothel, and the house of a resident identified as Sule Mai Goge.
During the raid, the attackers also kidnapped Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare.

State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, said the Commissioner of Police immediately ordered additional security forces to Tsamiya after the attack was reported. “The Kebbi State Police Command has deployed tactical personnel to Tsamiya Town following an attack by suspected terrorists,” Usman said.
He explained that security agencies responded swiftly to reinforce the community and protect lives and property. A full-scale investigation has begun, with efforts focused on rescuing the abducted victim and apprehending the attackers.
Police assured residents of Tsamiya and surrounding areas that operations would continue until normalcy is restored, and urged the public to remain calm while providing credible information to aid security efforts.
