Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have successfully dismantled a kidnapping syndicate, arrested four suspects, and rescued a kidnapped woman in a swift security operation.
The victim was reportedly abducted while attending to customers at her shop in Aluu community, Ikwerre Local Government Area. The assailants forcefully took her away in a white mini-bus to an unknown destination.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Blessing Agabe, the rescue operation was launched following a distress call from the victim’s husband, identified as Mr. Ikechukwu
. Acting promptly, the command’s Violent Crime Response Unit carried out an intelligence-led operation that led to the arrest of the suspects and the safe recovery of the victim.

The suspects have been identified as Owhor Chinedu (42), Isioto Waribok (30), Maduabuchi Emeka (34), and Joe Karachi (28), all indigenes of Rivers State. During interrogation, they reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime.
Police also recovered the operational vehicle used in the abduction. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend two other members of the gang who are still at large and to recover weapons used during the operation.
The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, reassured residents of the command’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes. He urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information, assuring that all tips would be handled with strict confidentiality.
The police reiterated their resolve to protect lives and property and ensure that all perpetrators of criminal activities are brought to justice.
