Police operatives have arrested two women in Nasarawa State after intercepting a large cache of ammunition allegedly being transported for illegal purposes.
The suspects were apprehended during a security operation that led to the recovery of 551 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 10 loaded AK-47 magazines, and additional ammunition concealed during transit.
The operation formed part of intensified efforts to curb the movement of illegal firearms and ammunition, as security agencies continue to target criminal networks involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, and other violent crimes.
