The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspected robbers and recovered 11 iPhones, an HP laptop and other valuables after foiling a robbery operation at a student hostel in the Eruku/Agbon area of Ewekoro Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Waris Dauda and Tiamiyu Abiodun, were arrested in the early hours of Sunday, September 13, 2026, after police operatives responded to a distress call reporting an armed robbery at the hostel.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. when operatives of the Ewekoro Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, arrived at the scene.
The police said the suspects abandoned a school bag containing some of the stolen items and attempted to flee after sighting the approaching officers. The operatives reportedly gave chase and arrested two of the suspects.
