
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three men suspected of being members of an armed robbery syndicate in the Alakuko area of the state.
The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Faruk Rasheed, 28-year-old Olamilekan Ademola and 21-year-old Abidemi Oluwawemo, were apprehended following intelligence linking them to alleged criminal activities in the area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebesi, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly specialised in vehicle snatching and robbing members of the public of their valuables.
Police said a search conducted during the operation led to the recovery of three locally made firearms and eight rounds of live ammunition.

The recovered weapons comprised two locally made pistols with five cartridges and a locally made revolver containing three rounds of 9mm live ammunition.
The command said the suspects are currently in police custody while investigations continue. Efforts are also underway to apprehend other alleged members of the suspected robbery syndicate.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and protecting lives and property across the state.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities and emergencies to the police.
