The Nigeria Police Force has arrested six suspected kidnappers linked to the abduction of a police officer, CSP Silas Kundi, and his son in Kaduna State, months after the incident.
The suspects Yusuf Shuaibu, Abubakar Bature, Yau Murtala, Bello Suleiman, Abdul Kareem Nuhu, and Ahmed Musa were apprehended on April 3, 2026, following intelligence-led operations by the Force Intelligence Department’s Special Tactical Squad.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Anthony Placid, the gang had abducted Kundi and his son, Enoch, in October 2025 in Kujama Town, collecting a ransom of ₦24 million. Despite receiving the payment, the victims were not released.
Police intervention later led to the rescue of Enoch unharmed, while efforts are ongoing to secure the release of CSP Kundi.

Investigations revealed that one of the suspects, Yusuf Shuaibu, is a key figure in a kidnapping syndicate linked to a notorious gang leader known as Kachalla Gwanna, with camps reportedly located in Rijana Forest in Kaduna State.
The police also connected the suspects to another kidnapping case involving three victims, where ₦18 million was paid before their eventual rescue through security operations.
In a related development, operatives arrested another suspect, Saminu Abdullahi, in Abuja over alleged links to banditry activities in Plateau State. He reportedly confessed to providing logistical support to armed groups during attacks.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to track down other members of the syndicate, recover weapons, and rescue remaining victims.
