
Security operatives intensify crackdown on criminal gangs as suspects linked to earlier robbery incident are taken into custody
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers in connection with a criminal conspiracy and robbery operation, during which a stolen motorcycle was recovered.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, the suspects identified as Mohammed Sani (25) and Sani Lawan (20), both from Badungu Village in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State were apprehended by operatives attached to the Ningi Division on May 4, 2026.
The police confirmed that a red Boxer motorcycle was recovered from the suspects at the time of their arrest.

Further investigations reportedly linked the duo to an earlier armed robbery incident that occurred on February 17, 2026, in Ningi Local Government Area.
During the attack, the suspects allegedly conspired and ambushed a 20-year-old victim, Mustapha Tukur, in a bush area near Bukutumbe Village, where they forcibly dispossessed him of his motorcycle before fleeing the scene.
The command stated that the suspects have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation and prosecution.
Reaffirming the command’s commitment to combating crime, the Commissioner of Police assured residents that efforts are ongoing to rid the state of criminal elements.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through official emergency lines.
