Seventeen family members linked to Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS), a faction associated with ISWAP, have surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno State.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Muhammed Goni, on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the surrender occurred in two separate locations—Konduga and Bama Local Government Areas.
In the first incident, 16 individuals comprising 10 women and six children voluntarily surrendered to troops of the 222 Battalion during a patrol operation along the Gezuwa axis in Konduga.
Military sources revealed that sustained offensive operations and increased pressure on terrorist enclaves played a major role in their decision to lay down arms.

A sum of ₦92,000 was reportedly recovered from the group during initial processing.
In a related development, an 11-year-old family member also surrendered to troops of the 202 Battalion under Sector 1 in Bama Local Government Area on the same day.
The surrendered individuals are currently in military custody undergoing profiling and debriefing as part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the North-East.
Security authorities say the continued wave of surrenders highlights the effectiveness of intensified military offensives aimed at dismantling insurgent networks in the region.
