The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man, Adam Mohammed, over the alleged rape of a 23-year-old woman in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.
The incident reportedly happened on August 12, 2026, at about 7:00am while the victim and her grandmother were working on their farm in Mangor, Bokkos LGA.
According to the police, Mohammed allegedly approached the two women while armed with a stick and attacked them before allegedly forcing himself on the 23-year-old woman.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ayodeji Faniyan, disclosed the arrest while parading suspects linked to various crimes at the command headquarters in Jos on September 18, 2026.
Faniyan said the suspect was arrested shortly after the matter was reported to the police.
The victim was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical examination following the incident.

The police commissioner added that Mohammed remains in custody while investigation into the case continues.
He said the suspect would be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.
