The Ebonyi State Government has sealed an unapproved building project at the former CBN office along Ezza Road, Abakaliki, which was being converted into a hotel.
The enforcement was carried out by the Ministry of Capital City Regional and Urban Planning in collaboration with the Ebonyi State Board of Internal Revenue Services.
Officials said the property was being converted without the required building approval and did not comply with the approved development plans.

The Commissioner for Capital City Regional and Urban Planning, Richard Ugo Idike, directed the sealing of the property and warned developers to obtain the necessary approvals before starting construction or changing the use of existing buildings.
He said the government would continue monitoring and enforcement activities to ensure orderly and planned development across Abakaliki and other parts of the state.
Property owners and developers were also urged to regularise their properties and comply with all relevant planning and building regulations.
