
The Village Head of Gwande community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Mr. Samuel Usman Alakate, has been hospitalised following an attack by unidentified assailants.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening along the Daffo–Hotom–Sha road while the traditional ruler was traveling. Reports indicate that the attackers left the 60-year-old with injuries before fleeing the scene.
Security operatives under Operation Enduring Peace, Sector 5, swiftly responded after receiving a distress call.

Troops were immediately deployed to the area, where they found the injured community leader and evacuated him to the Cottage Hospital in Bokkos for medical treatment.
Authorities have since intensified security patrols and operations across the area to forestall further attacks and reassure residents of their safety.
Efforts are currently underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the assault.
