A distraught woman has made a heartfelt appeal to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, urging him to intensify efforts to secure the release of her daughter-in-law and four grandchildren who were abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
The emotional plea was made during the governor’s visit to the affected community on Saturday, as families of victims continue to anxiously await the safe return of their loved ones.
Speaking through tears, the woman identified her daughter-in-law as one of the victims seen in a viral video circulating online.
“Please have mercy on us. My daughter-in-law and four grandchildren are among those kidnapped. She is the woman carrying a baby on her back in the video. She is a teacher,” she said.
The abduction reportedly occurred when armed men invaded schools and surrounding communities in the Esiele and Yawota areas, taking away teachers, pupils, and residents.

He expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership and ability to secure the release of the abductees.
The incident has sparked growing concern among residents and families, with many calling for urgent and decisive action from both the government and security agencies.
