The Osun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, has arrested two men over an alleged violent attack on a female farmer in Iwo.
The suspects, identified as 55-year-old Fatai Balogun and 52-year-old Rafiu Adesola Balogun, were apprehended on Friday, August 28, 2026, following a distress call from residents and farmers in the area.
The incident occurred on a farmland located around the boundary between Osun and Oyo States.
According to the Amotekun Corps, the suspects allegedly confronted the woman while she was working on her farm and attempted to force her to leave the land.
The suspects were reportedly armed with a barrel gun and a cutlass during the incident.
Following the distress call, operatives from the Amotekun Corps’ Iwo Command were deployed to the area. The officers reportedly confronted the suspects and succeeded in overpowering and arresting them.
A barrel gun and cutlass were also allegedly recovered from the suspects.

The Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idowu Abass, said preliminary questioning indicated that the woman was beaten with a cutlass and other objects during the confrontation.
The suspects were subsequently taken to the Amotekun headquarters in Osogbo for questioning, where they allegedly admitted to attacking the woman.
The Corps also alleged that the two men had been terrorising other farmers and residents in the area.
Speaking on the incident, the Corps Commander, Isaac Omoyele, commended residents and farmers for promptly alerting security authorities.
He said the quick intervention of the operatives helped prevent the attack from escalating and possibly saved the woman’s life.
Following preliminary investigations, the suspects were handed over to the Zone XI Police Command in Osogbo for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Amotekun Corps urged residents and farmers across Osun State to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities or movements to security agencies.
