Troops of Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have rescued a 47-year-old woman, Mrs Paulina Alfred, after her abductors reportedly abandoned her while fleeing from troops during a search operation in Plateau State.
Mrs Alfred was kidnapped from her residence in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the rescue followed distress calls from residents, prompting troops to launch a search operation at about 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
The troops reportedly tracked the kidnappers to the Rafin Bauna general area of Bassa Local Government Area, where they intensified their operation.

Faced with mounting pressure from the security forces, the abductors allegedly abandoned their victim and fled into the surrounding area.
The troops subsequently located Mrs Alfred and rescued her without further harm.
She was debriefed by security personnel before being reunited with her family.
The successful operation highlights the continued efforts of security forces to rescue victims of kidnapping and intensify pressure on criminal elements operating across Plateau State.
