Troops of Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have rescued a 47-year-old woman, Mrs Paulina Alfred, after her abductors abandoned her in Plateau State following pressure from security forces.
Alfred was reportedly kidnapped from her residence in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the rescue operation followed distress calls from members of the community.
The troops reportedly launched a search operation around 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday and tracked the kidnappers to the Rafin Bauna general area of Bassa Local Government Area.
As the soldiers intensified their search, the abductors reportedly came under pressure and fled, leaving the victim behind.

Mrs Alfred was subsequently found and rescued by the troops without further harm.
Security personnel reportedly debriefed the victim before she was reunited with her family.
The successful operation highlights continued efforts by security forces to track kidnappers and rescue victims in parts of Plateau State.
Authorities have continued to intensify security operations across affected communities as part of efforts to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities.
