A 42-year-old farmer, identified as Ganiu Agbajo, has been arrested in Ogun State over the alleged sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl in Ipokia Local Government Area.
The suspect was arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) following a report from members of the community on September 7, 2026.
According to the Corps, the girl reportedly disclosed the incident to her mother, who raised the alarm and informed residents. Operatives subsequently traced and arrested the suspect at his residence in Igbokulu, Ita-Egbe, Ipokia.

The Corps said the suspect was questioned and allegedly admitted to the offence. He has since been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Authorities have urged members of the public to promptly report suspected cases of child abuse and other unlawful activities to the appropriate agencies.
