The family of a Nigerian woman, Christiana Nwosu, has appealed for public support to return her remains to Nigeria after she reportedly died from cardiac arrest while visiting the United Kingdom.
According to a fundraising campaign launched on behalf of the family, Nwosu passed away on July 19, 2026, leaving behind grieving children, relatives, and friends.
The organisers described her as a caring and compassionate woman whose sudden death has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew her. They said the family’s wish is to have her buried in Nigeria, where she can be laid to rest among her relatives and in her ancestral home.
However, they noted that transporting her body from the UK to Nigeria involves significant expenses, including documentation, specialist repatriation services, air freight, transportation, and burial arrangements.

To help meet these costs, the family launched an online fundraising campaign with a target of £10,000. As of the latest update, £7,941 had already been raised through donations from supporters.
The family also appealed to members of the public who may be unable to contribute financially to assist by sharing the campaign and keeping them in their thoughts during the difficult period.
Cases of Nigerian families seeking financial assistance to repatriate the remains of loved ones who died abroad have become increasingly common due to the high cost of international funeral arrangements and transportation.
