The husband of abducted Oyo school principal Mrs. Rachael Alamu broke down in tears on Saturday while begging Governor Seyi Makinde to intensify efforts to rescue his wife and other kidnapped victims.
The emotional appeal was made during the governor’s visit to Oriire Local Government Area, where families of abducted residents gathered to seek urgent government intervention.
Mrs. Alamu, also identified as Alamu Folawe and principal of Community Grammar School, Esiele, was kidnapped alongside others in the Ogbomoso axis of Oyo State in recent days. Her husband said the family’s pain had worsened because she was allegedly being used in distress videos circulated by the abductors.
Speaking in Yoruba, he told the governor, “My wife is the one being used to make the videos that are being circulated. It is very disheartening and depressing,” before breaking down in tears.
He commended Makinde for visiting the affected community but urged him not to let rescue efforts slow down. According to him, families of the victims are living in fear and emotional torture as they wait for news. The husband appealed for everything possible to be done to ensure his wife and the other abducted persons return home alive.

A fresh video reportedly showed the abducted principal appealing to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Makinde to consider dialogue to secure their release.
The incident has renewed concern over insecurity in parts of Oyo State, especially rural communities in the Ogbomoso axis, where residents have complained of recent attacks and abductions.
Families have also called on President Tinubu to support coordinated rescue efforts and ensure the safe release of those in captivity.
Security agencies are said to be working to track the kidnappers, though authorities have not released full details of the ongoing operation.
For the husband of the abducted principal, the matter remains painfully personal as his wife remains in captivity and every passing hour deepens the wait for her return.
