
Armed bandits have launched a deadly attack on a mosque in Unguwan Namama village, located in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, leaving one worshipper dead and several others abducted.
The incident, which occurred on Friday night around 8 p.m., has once again raised concerns over the persistent insecurity in the region despite assurances from the Kaduna State Government on progress in combating banditry.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that the attackers stormed the mosque while prayers were ongoing.
As worshippers began to exit the mosque, the bandits opened fire, causing panic and chaos within the community.

The victim who lost his life in the attack has been identified as Adamu Ibraheem. His relative, Abubakar Abdullahi, confirmed the tragic incident in a message made available to the media.
Several other worshippers sustained gunshot injuries during the assault and were immediately rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Sources within the community disclosed that the gunmen also abducted an unspecified number of individuals during the attack although the exact figures of those kidnapped and injured remain unclear at the time of this report.
The attack highlights ongoing security challenges in parts of northern Nigeria, with residents calling for intensified efforts by security agencies to protect lives and property.
