The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, popularly known as the Lagos Task Force, has arrested 33 suspected criminals during a coordinated enforcement operation across parts of Victoria Island and Lekki.
According to the agency, the operation was carried out in the early hours of Monday as part of ongoing efforts to tackle crime, environmental violations and other offences in line with the Lagos State Government’s THEMES Plus Agenda.
In a statement issued by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the raid targeted suspected street criminals, drug users and dealers, illegal commercial motorcyclists, street traders, ticket touts and other individuals accused of disrupting public safety.
The enforcement exercise covered Ikate Bus Stop, Marwa Bus Stop, Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island, Obalende Underbridge, Law School Junction and surrounding areas along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, where security agencies had reportedly identified criminal activities.
The Task Force said officers arrested 33 suspects and recovered substances suspected to be Tramadol, Indian hemp, Colorado, marijuana and cannabis, as well as dangerous weapons including scissors and cutlasses.
The agency added that the operation restored normalcy to the affected locations.

Abdulraheem disclosed that all the suspects have been arraigned before the appropriate courts under relevant provisions of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017, and the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018, where applicable.
Speaking after the operation, the Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, CSP Adetayo Akerele, warned those involved in criminal activities to either abandon such acts or leave Lagos State.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to sustained intelligence-led enforcement operations aimed at removing criminal elements, maintaining law and order, and intensifying the crackdown on illegal commercial motorcycle operations across the state.
