A fire on Thursday morning damaged the electronics section of a Justrite Superstore located along Akowonjo Road in the Egbeda-Akowonjo area of Lagos, while no injuries or deaths were reported.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said it received an emergency call at about 8:15 a.m. and dispatched firefighters from the Abesan and Agege Fire Stations, who arrived at the scene within minutes to tackle the blaze.
According to the agency, the fire was confined to the electronics section on the second floor of the commercial building. Firefighters quickly launched operations to contain the flames and stop them from spreading to other parts of the supermarket and nearby properties.
The emergency response team successfully extinguished the fire before carrying out recovery and mop-up operations to ensure the area was safe.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident may have been linked to an alternative power source, believed to be a solar inverter system, although a full investigation is still ongoing.
The Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that no casualties were recorded, despite the damage caused to the affected section of the store.
Authorities are expected to continue assessing the extent of the losses and determine the exact cause of the fire.
