A fire outbreak at the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, Kano State, has destroyed property estimated at ₦20 million.
The incident occurred at the university’s Architecture Department, where files and other materials in an office were affected by the fire.
The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Kano State Command, said firefighters responded swiftly after receiving an emergency call at about 11:38 a.m. Security personnel at the university had reported the incident to the Commander of the Nigeria Police Academy.
Firefighters from the FFS and Kano State Fire Service worked together to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the university.

According to the FFS, property worth about ₦700 million was involved in the incident, while assets estimated at ₦680 million were successfully saved.
A preliminary assessment suggested that damaged electrical wiring may have triggered the fire, although the FFS said a full investigation had been ordered to determine the actual cause.
The FFS urged schools, offices and members of the public to regularly inspect electrical installations and replace faulty or damaged wiring to reduce the risk of fire outbreaks.
