
A Lagos-based hairstylist, identified simply as Elvis, has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers during an attack around Alesh Market in the Ajah area of Lagos State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday evening when the suspected robbers attacked residents and passersby around the market, dispossessing some victims of their valuables.
Elvis was said to have been returning from work when he encountered the robbers. According to a police source, he resisted the attackers and was subsequently shot in the head.
The assailants reportedly fled the area after taking belongings from some of their victims.

A resident who spoke about the incident expressed concern over the growing cases of robbery and harassment in the area, particularly around the market at night.
The resident called for increased police patrols to improve security and prevent further attacks on residents and passersby.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said no suspect had been arrested yet, adding that investigation into the killing was ongoing.
Police authorities are expected to intensify efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
