
Two security operatives have reportedly been killed after suspected gunmen attacked Tanjol and Tarai communities in Jol District, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attack occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, according to residents who spoke about the incident.
Community sources said security personnel responded to the attack but encountered heavy resistance from the assailants, leading to a gun battle that lasted several minutes.
At least two operatives were reportedly killed during the confrontation, while the attackers allegedly seized their firearms and fled the area.
Residents also reported that several people sustained injuries in the attack, while one civilian was said to be missing.
