Four people have been hospitalised following a violent clash involving suspected rival cult groups during an Isese Day celebration in the Ewu area of Oshodi, Lagos State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday while residents were gathered for the traditional festival.
According to sources in the community, the event was initially peaceful before an altercation allegedly broke out between members of two rival groups. What started as a minor disagreement reportedly escalated into a violent confrontation.
Residents said some of those involved were armed with dangerous weapons, causing panic as people at the venue and passersby reportedly fled for safety.

Four people were injured in the clash, with one reportedly sustaining a serious facial injury after being stabbed. The injured victims were subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.
An anti-cultism platform, Naija Confra, claimed the clash involved suspected Eiye cult members from Mafoluku and Ewu.
The platform said an issue reportedly arose between members of the group from the two areas during the Isese Festival, resulting in the violent confrontation and serious injuries.
The exact cause of the disagreement remained unclear as of the time of reporting.
Efforts to obtain an official reaction from the Lagos State Police Command were reportedly ongoing.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and avoid areas where cult-related violence or other disturbances may occur.
