Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have reportedly killed two suspected terrorists and arrested a suspected bandit during an operation in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The troops also recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine and two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition during the operation.
According to an operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday, the incident occurred on Monday, August 10, at Nwur village in Langtang North.
The report stated that the troops had mobilised alongside an arrested suspected bandit to recover a rifle allegedly concealed by the suspect in the area.
However, as the troops approached the village, they reportedly came under attack from suspected members of a criminal group.

The troops responded to the attack, killing two of the suspected attackers in the ensuing encounter.
The report added that the arrested suspect who was accompanying the troops was also killed during the confrontation, while no military personnel sustained injuries.
Following the encounter, the troops conducted an operation around the area and recovered the AK-47 rifle, one magazine and two rounds of ammunition.
The military said operations continued to track and apprehend other members of the suspected criminal syndicate who fled the area.
Authorities have continued to intensify security operations across parts of Plateau State amid efforts to curb attacks and criminal activities in affected communities.
