Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly killed five people and destroyed several houses and business premises in attacks on Gaya Sikalmi and Gaya Gartsanau communities in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The attacks occurred in the early hours of Monday, leaving residents in fear as the assailants allegedly opened fire indiscriminately and set buildings ablaze.
Two of the victims were reportedly killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted along the community’s main access road.
Residents said the communities remain vulnerable to insurgent attacks due to their proximity to Sambisa Forest, a known hideout for insurgents in Nigeria’s North-East.
