The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate allegedly linked to the abduction of a man, Abubakar Abdullahim, in the Molege area near Owo, Ondo State.
The suspects, identified as Adamu Rabiu and Haruna Likita, were arrested during separate operations following sustained intelligence gathering by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Akure.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the arrests were connected to the alleged kidnapping of Abdullahim on August 1, 2026.
Jimoh disclosed that operatives, acting on credible intelligence, traced and arrested Rabiu in Ibadan, Oyo State, with the assistance of the Oyo State Police Command.
The second suspect, Likita, was apprehended around Ipele, near Owo, in Ondo State, in connection with the same incident.

The police said preliminary investigations had established links between the two suspects and the alleged abduction. The suspects reportedly made statements during interrogation which the police said indicated their alleged involvement.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the kidnapping and identify other individuals who may be connected to the syndicate.
The command also stated that it was intensifying efforts to uncover the wider network and operational structure of the suspected kidnapping group.
The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Felix Ohagwu, urged residents, particularly those in communities vulnerable to criminal activities, to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court after the completion of investigations.
