
A father has reportedly died after collapsing from shock shortly after his missing daughter was found in Minna, Niger State.
The daughter, identified as Maryam Zubairu, a student of the School of Health Technology, Minna, was declared missing after leaving her workplace at the General Hospital, New Extension, at about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
According to reports, her mobile phone became unreachable after she left the hospital, causing her family to become worried and begin searching for her.
Zubairu was later located by vigilante members led by Amb. Manta and subsequently handed over to the authorities at her school.

The situation, however, took a tragic turn when her parents arrived and confirmed that she had been found. Her father reportedly collapsed shortly after seeing his daughter and died.
His funeral prayer was held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Anguwan Tsohin Kwata in Minna.
The circumstances surrounding Maryam Zubairu’s disappearance remain unclear, as no further details have been established regarding where she was or what happened to her during the period she was missing.
The incident has left the family and members of the community mourning the sudden death of the father, which occurred moments after the relief of finding his daughter alive.
