
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested five suspects over separate cases involving alleged abuse and other related offences across the state.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects have been investigated and are expected to be charged to court.
One of the cases involves a 46-year-old man accused of engaging in an unlawful relationship with his daughter over a period of time. Police said the matter was uncovered after the victim, now 20 years old, tested positive for HIV during a medical examination.

The suspect is reported to have made a statement to investigators.
In a separate incident, a woman was arrested over allegations of physically abusing two young children.
The children were said to have sustained injuries during the incident, while the suspect claimed she had adopted them from a care home in Onitsha.
Other cases under investigation include allegations involving minors, where suspects are accused of assaulting or exploiting vulnerable victims in different circumstances.
These cases were handled by the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The police confirmed that medical reports and other evidence have been gathered to support ongoing prosecutions.
The Commissioner of Police described the incidents as unacceptable, reaffirming the command’s commitment to protecting children and other vulnerable persons in the state.
All five suspects are expected to be arraigned before a Special Court sitting in Awka.
