Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have apprehended two individuals suspected of collaborating with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a security operation in Borno State.
The arrest was disclosed by counter-terrorism expert Zagazola Makama in a statement shared on X. According to him, the suspects were intercepted during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari Road.
The individuals, identified as 20-year-old Adamu Abdullahi and 18-year-old Buba Ibrahim, were arrested at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 9. Security operatives reportedly recovered a sum of ₦131,300 from them at the time of arrest.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects claimed to be herders. However, they were taken into custody over suspicions of aiding terrorist elements and possible involvement in cattle rustling activities.
Makama noted that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts by the military under Operation HADIN KAI and Operation DESERT SANITY V to dismantle networks providing support to terrorist groups in the region.
He further emphasized that security forces have intensified surveillance across major routes and rural corridors, areas often exploited by collaborators for logistics, intelligence gathering, and movement.
The suspects are currently in military custody and are expected to face further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.
