The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a woman, identified as Lorretta Anoh, over the alleged murder of 36-year-old Chikoka Emeka Henry at his residence in Osongama Estate, Uyo.
According to the police, Anoh was reportedly the last person seen entering Henry’s apartment on Tuesday before he was discovered dead.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased sustained a deep cut to his head. Following the arrest of the suspect, police detectives conducted a search that reportedly led to the recovery of ₦2,943,250 in cash.
The police alleged that Anoh confessed to taking the money from the deceased.
Authorities further stated that the suspect had allegedly started making arrangements to transfer ownership of Henry’s Mercedes-Benz 4Matic to herself.
The black Mercedes-Benz, with registration number EKY 694 GP, was later removed from the car park at the deceased’s residence and recovered by the police as part of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Amengheme Andrew, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Ikot Akpan Abia, for a thorough investigation.
Detectives are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding Henry’s death, the recovered money, the vehicle and the activities of the suspect following the incident.
The police commissioner also advised members of the public to be careful about the people they associate with and those they allow access to their homes and personal affairs.
The command said further information would be made available as the investigation progresses.
