Panic gripped residents around Liberty Junction in Kubwa, Abuja, on Sunday morning after a fire broke out at a gas outlet.
The Federal Fire Service, FCT Command, said its firefighters and other emergency responders arrived at the scene around 6:30am and successfully contained the blaze, preventing what could have resulted in a major gas explosion.

The fire reportedly caused extensive damage to the gas outlet, while nearby vehicles and motorcycles were also affected.
The cause of the incident and the extent of the damage have not yet been disclosed. Authorities have also not confirmed whether there were any casualties.
Emergency responders remained at the scene to bring the situation under control and prevent further danger.
