
Two people have been confirmed dead and eight others injured after a violent clash between youths from Inkil and Bujinji villages on the outskirts of Bauchi metropolis.
The incident occurred at about 11:00 pm on June 21, 2026, when youths from Inkil village allegedly launched a reprisal attack on Bujinji over a longstanding dispute between the two communities.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, eight people sustained varying degrees of injuries during the confrontation.
A police patrol team responded to a distress call and evacuated the victims to the State Specialist Hospital in Bauchi for treatment.

Medical personnel later confirmed the deaths of Al Amin Mohammad Aliyu and Jibir Shuaibu, both residents of Inkil community.
Security operatives have since been deployed to the affected areas to restore calm. Authorities say they are monitoring the situation closely to prevent further breakdown of law and order.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and officials say those responsible for the violence will be brought to justice.
