
One person was killed and two others injured after a clash broke out between armed men and residents of Unguwan Marke in Munsal Ward, Liman Katagum District, Bauchi Local Government Area.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, 17 May 2026, according to a report shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X. A group of armed men, allegedly posing as members of a hunters’ association, stormed the community and attempted to remove the roof of a building belonging to Isah Garba from Balakum village in Alkaleri LGA.
Tension rose when youths in the area confronted the group. The confrontation turned violent after the armed men opened fire. Sani Hassan was shot in the leg, while Garba from Shinge village sustained a gunshot injury to his hand. Mubarak Adamu was hit and died on the spot.

Police operatives evacuated the victims to the Specialist Hospital in Bauchi. A doctor confirmed Adamu dead, and his body was released to his family for burial.
Sources said the armed men claimed they were acting on an eviction order allegedly issued by a High Court in Bauchi. The legality of the claim and their use of firearms are now under investigation. Security authorities have launched a probe to identify and arrest those involved.
