
Suspected bandits have attacked Unguwar Mahauta community in Lakwaya village, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, killing at least two people and rustling a large number of cattle.
The attack occurred on Thursday evening when the assailants arrived on more than 30 motorcycles and opened fire on residents. Witnesses said the gunmen caused panic as people fled for safety while the attackers operated freely before escaping with livestock.

Several other residents were injured during the invasion, though the exact number has not been confirmed. Security analyst Bakatsine shared details of the incident on X, questioning how heavily armed groups continue to move in large convoys and carry out attacks without interception.
The latest attack adds to growing concerns over insecurity in rural communities across Kano State.
