A Nigerian soldier has reportedly shot and killed a senior colleague following an argument in Kano State.
The incident reportedly involved a Private soldier and a Sergeant identified as Suleiman, who were both assigned to guard the residence of a retired Army General in the state.
According to security sources, the disagreement escalated shortly before the shooting occurred.
Sources claimed the Sergeant had briefly stepped into a restroom during the altercation and was allegedly attacked moments after coming out.
CCTV footage from the residence was said to have helped investigators identify the suspect.
The accused soldier was reportedly recently transferred from Borno State, where he had participated in counter-insurgency operations against Boko Haram fighters.

Authorities are yet to officially confirm what triggered the confrontation.
The development has again raised concerns about the mental and emotional wellbeing of troops returning from conflict zones, especially those involved in prolonged anti-terror operations in the Northeast.
Over the years, there have been several reported cases involving soldiers allegedly attacking colleagues or taking violent actions while on duty.
Some military personnel have previously complained about stress, poor welfare conditions, and extended deployments in insurgency-hit areas.
Investigations into the Kano incident are reportedly ongoing.
