
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have killed two suspected members of the Lakurawa terrorist group during a military operation in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The soldiers also recovered weapons and rescued dozens of rustled livestock in separate security operations carried out across Sokoto State and Katsina State.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for 8 Division and Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the operation followed a distress call over an attempted attack on a Nigerian Immigration Service facility in Ruwa Wiri village, Tangaza LGA.

Troops reportedly engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle, killing two of the terrorists while several others escaped under heavy military firepower.
Security operatives later combed the area and recovered two AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and a motorcycle believed to have been used by the fleeing suspects.
In another operation in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, troops on patrol intercepted armed bandits moving with stolen livestock around Danya Bakwai settlement.
The criminals reportedly abandoned the animals and fled after coming under attack from the soldiers.
Military authorities confirmed that 62 rustled livestock were recovered and later returned to their rightful owners at the palace of the Daddara District Head in Jibia.
The Army reaffirmed that Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains committed to intensifying offensives against terrorism, banditry, and cattle rustling across the North-West region, while urging residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible intelligence.
