
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested 52 suspects and recovered assorted illicit substances during coordinated raids on drug hotspots across Kano State.
The operation, carried out under the Kano State Strategic Command as part of Operation Sharar Mafaka, targeted over 20 known drug locations across the metropolis within two days.
The raids began on April 27, 2026, covering areas such as Filin Idi, Tashar Rami, Fagge, Abattoir, and Farm Centre, where several suspects were arrested and drugs seized.
Further operations on April 28 extended to Hotoro Flyover, Mariri Park, Yankaba Park, Sabon Gari, and other areas, leading to additional arrests and recoveries.

In total, 52 suspects including four females were apprehended, with various illicit drugs and related items confiscated.
Authorities described the exercise as a “dislodge and occupy” strategy aimed at permanently clearing drug joints and preventing their resurgence.
The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining enforcement actions in line with the national goal of a drug-free society and urged public cooperation in reporting illicit drug activities.
