Armed men reportedly abducted and brutalised members of the Iru Ekun group in Bani community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, forcing them to deny further involvement with the organisation.
A viral video showed several men with their hands tied behind their backs while their captors interrogated them about their association with the group.
One of the armed men, speaking in Yoruba, accused the abducted individuals of ignoring repeated warnings against associating with Iru Ekun or welcoming its members into Bani.
During the interrogation, one of the victims identified himself as Yusuf Alagbere and said he was a hunter who had been invited by some young men.
When asked who invited him, Yusuf reportedly mentioned the Elere boys.
Another victim, identified as Jelili Alagbere, confirmed that he belonged to Iru Ekun. His captor questioned why he had joined the group despite the alleged warnings against its activities in the community.
Jelili, who was wearing an Iru Ekun-branded shirt, reportedly said he was unaware of the warning.
The armed men also questioned other captives about their identities and why they attempted to flee when they encountered the group.
One of the abducted men identified himself as Rafiu and said he was coming from home when he was seized.
An elderly man was also seen in the video with his hands tied behind his back. He denied belonging to Iru Ekun and challenged his captors to explain whether they had ever seen him with members of the group.
Towards the end of the recording, the armed men asked the captives whether they would continue participating in Iru Ekun activities.
The men were heard responding that they would no longer participate in the group’s activities.

The incident comes months after a man from Bani reportedly issued threats against Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
In a video reported on June 24, 2026, the man warned Igboho against entering Bani, insisting that residents of the community were not intimidated by him.
The man also defended Fulani residents in the area against allegations of banditry, claiming that many were engaged in legitimate activities, including mining.
He warned that Igboho would not leave the community safely if he attempted to enter it to confront Fulani residents.
The latest incident has drawn attention to tensions surrounding Iru Ekun and the security situation in Bani, although the full circumstances of the reported abduction remain unclear.
