A newlywed couple, Funmilayo Bamidele and her husband, Reverend Abiodun David, have reportedly been abducted by armed bandits along the Iyemero-Eruku Road, near the Kwara-Kogi border.
The couple were said to be returning from their engagement ceremony in Eruku on Saturday when their vehicle was intercepted. Four other passengers were also reportedly taken away.

According to the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, soldiers and police operatives from Kwara, Kogi and Ekiti states are currently conducting a joint operation to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
The vehicle conveying the victims was later found abandoned at a police station in Ayetoro, Ekiti State.
The rescue operation is ongoing as security agencies intensify efforts to locate the abducted couple and the other victims.
