The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, identified as Peter Sinamai, over the alleged killing of his biological father in Sangere, Gombi Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect was arrested after the police received a report concerning the alleged incident.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, preliminary investigations revealed that Sinamai allegedly killed his father and dumped his body in a well within the neighbourhood.
Following the report, police operatives moved in and apprehended the suspect, while efforts were launched to recover the deceased’s remains.
Nguroje disclosed that the corpse was eventually recovered from the well and deposited at a mortuary for autopsy.

The police spokesman said the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, had ordered a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged killing.
The command is also expected to determine the motive behind the incident and gather further evidence as the investigation progresses.
Nguroje assured that the suspect would be charged before a court upon completion of the investigation.
