
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers who were on its wanted list. The suspects were apprehended in Mubi town during a special operation tagged Operation Sanity Mubi.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the arrests were made on Friday after a robbery incident in the early hours of Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Unguwar Kara area of Mubi. He identified the suspects as Abdulhamid Salihu and Bello Yahaya. Two other accomplices are still at large.

According to the police, the suspects and their fleeing accomplices attacked one Mustapha Ali, inflicted injuries on him, and dispossessed him of cash and other valuables. Following the report, operatives attached to Mubi South and Mubi North local government areas launched intelligence-led operations that led to the arrest of Salihu and Yahaya.
Items recovered from the suspects include stolen mobile phones, jewelry, handbags, travelling bags, and the weapons allegedly used during the robbery. The police said the recovery was made during the coordinated operation.
SP Nguroje assured residents that investigation is ongoing and efforts are being intensified to track and arrest the remaining suspects. He urged the public to continue providing useful information to aid crime prevention in Adamawa State.
