A man identified as Adejuwon Adekunle, popularly known as Asa, has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Dele Yes Sir community, Osogbo, Osun State.
The incident reportedly occurred around 2am on Tuesday when armed men allegedly traced Adekunle to the area and opened fire.
According to the Osun State Police Command, the victim was rushed to a hospital after sustaining gunshot injuries but was pronounced dead on arrival. His remains were subsequently deposited at a morgue.

Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi said preliminary findings suggested that the attack might be cult-related. He added that the Commissioner of Police had directed the case to the Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
The police confirmed that no arrest had been made in connection with the killing as of Tuesday.
The development comes amid another fatal shooting in Ile-Ife, where Accord Party chieftain Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade, was killed during a reported clash at Mayfair Motor Park on Sunday. Police said some individuals had been invited and questioned in connection with that incident, although no arrest had been made.
